To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter of reference for Kay Roe and The Caney House which I used one month ago for my wedding. I was looking for a quaint location to provide a "different" environment for my second wedding. The Caney House was perfect! The location was beautiful and Kay did a wonderful job working with me to get all the details just right. We had a small wedding with only a cake reception, however, it was handled with professionalism and in my mind the day was perfect.

Although my wedding was quite small, I understand that there have been large wedding parties there before and can easily see how The Caney House could accommodate a larger wedding and reception. I would recommend the location to anyone. The house, the grounds and the people are fabulous!

Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions.

Dear All,

Do you believe in fate? I know is sounds corny, and I was once a non-believer, but now I know that fate allows us to experience things in life that we could have never known with out it. One year ago, almost to the day, I was at new teacher orientation excited about my new job. As fate would have it, I met a man who my father tried to get me to go on a blind date with when I was in college. You see, I went to SHSU and my father's friend from work had a son who also went to SHSU. They apparently thought we would make a good couple and tried to persuade both of us to meet. However, we did not meet until fate threw us together at new teacher orientation. We have been inseparable ever since. On New Year's Eve 2005, he proposed to me. Of course I said, "YES!" We began our journey to find the right photographer, preacher, place to get married, cake, dress, etc, etc. Well as fate would have it during the Christmas holidays my mother toured several houses in the Bay City area with the Matagorda County Museum. One home she toured was The Caney House. My mother instantly remembered this beautiful home and quickly told me that it would be the perfect place for us to get married. I was open to the idea. An outdoor wedding is something I have always dreamed of. After meeting with Kay Roe, Rush (my fiancee, now husband) and I instantly fell in love* Not only with the house and patio, but also with Kay, because she went out of her way to make us feel like we were her only priority. She talked with us, helped us find a photographer, and became our friend. We spent the night at The Caney House on the night of our wedding, and awoke to the most delicious breakfast. Our entire experience with Kay was one that we look back on as a blessing during a commonly stressful time. Our friends and family still mention how beautiful everything was at our wedding, how delicious the food was and how welcome they felt there. I know that I am being biased when I say this, but I have never had more fun at a wedding in all my life. I hope that if you haven't been convinced of how wonderful Kay and her home is, that you will call or write me. I would love to talk with you about our wonderful experience.

Sincerely,

Kay:

I just wanted to express how much our daughter and her new husband loved the party at your wonderful home. You and your staff were so friendly and easy to work with. I never had to worry about one thing. And to think - we handled the entire party by e-mail.

I have told all my friends that The Caney House is the place to have that perfect party or gathering. It is not only beautiful, but the owner and staff are totally delightful. This was truly a wonderful experience for my family.

Thank you again.
Sincerely,

Barbara Sliva

Wedding of Desiree Andresen

Our daughter's Wedding was at "The Caney House' 9 in May of 2003. God provided beautiful weather. Kay Roe and her staff finished it off, making a perfect evening for our daughter's dream wedding.

Kay and her staff do all they can to ensure all expectations of the bride and her family are seen to, according to the agreed contract and beyond. Kay is also an excellent che£ I have eaten at "The Caney House" several times and couldn't be more pleased.

The grounds are breathless, which goes without saying. Little decor is needed for your special occasion, which you can imagine, saves a bundle of dollars!
